Costa da Morte, the coast of death, in Galicia province, Spain. If you take a look through these slides, you will see why its called that: check out the potential for wind, waves, fog, cliffs, rocks, consequently shipwrecks. Also consequently, lighthouses. (Yes, there is glorious sunshine as well.) Margaret, Ruth, Richard and I hiked the Lighthouse Way for a week.
Galicia is where the ancient Catholic pilgrims’ Caminos wind their way to the finish at Santiago de Compostela. The Lighthouse Way is not part of that network, but serves up its own spirituality and wonder courtesy of nature. If you are tempted by what you see, this is the outfit that organized our hike.
