Timeline for this project

18 May 2017:  begin by buying adaptor that will go between new camera body and old film-era lenses. Unpack it, pretend to have camera, imagine.

13 June 2017: buy brand new (how exciting) digital camera body. Click shutter for very first time. And again, and again. Learn and relearn.

1 July 2017: realize that commitment is required. Begin posting one image a day on new instagram account.

4 July 2017: discover that this is going to be hard work. Start re-structuring my life a bit to accommodate image making on a regular basis.

August 22 to 29:  incredible week-long workshop in St. Martins (hey — my name — another example of the universe aligning) New Brunswick with renowned photographer Freeman Patterson, and his co-instructor André Gallant. Thank you so much, gurus.

Then and for a year after:  experience a rolling series of highs and lows keeping the project going. Sick for a month after Christmas, and it was tough to get out into the cold and keep making images.

11 March 2018:  register domain name “Imageaday.ca”.  It kind of rhymes. Start experimenting with wordpress, and building this website.

24 April 2018: switch website on. Keep fiddling with it. Fingers crossed that someone out there will take a look. Fingers crossed that I can get the kinks out of it before then!

July 1 2018: officially end posting an image a day. Did not miss a single day! Celebrate with Ruth and a bottle of Barolo.

2025: Still working on building website content …

PS: If I can do this … so can you …!
